The seventh annual PhysioNet/Computers in Cardiology Challenge has begun. Challenge 2006 offers participants an opportunity to establish the accuracy and reliability of fully automated methods for measuring QT intervals, a topic of interest since regulatory agencies around the world currently endorse only manual and semi-automated methods in clinical trials for new drugs. MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database expanded

The entire MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database is now freely available on PhysioNet. Somewhat more than half of the database has been available here since PhysioNet's inception; the remainder has now been posted.

WAVE for MS-Windows

PhysioNet's most capable tool for viewing, analyzing, and annotating physiologic signals, WAVE, is now available for MS-Windows. WAVE was developed under SunOS and GNU/Linux, and it also runs under Solaris, FreeBSD, and Mac OS X. A single set of WAVE sources supports all of these platforms, so that WAVE behaves identically on any of them.
